Morocco’s U-20 national team clinched a place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with a decisive 3-1 victory over Tunisia on Wednesday, May 7, at the Canal de Suez Stadium in Ismailia, Egypt.

After a tentative opening phase marked by missed opportunities, Morocco broke the deadlock just before halftime. In the 44th minute, Ayman Arguigue Safsati capitalized on a defensive error to slot home the opening goal.

The second half saw the Atlas Cubs take firm control of the match, dominating possession and maintaining a disciplined defensive line. However, a lapse at the back allowed Tunisia to level the score in the 53rd minute through a goal by defender Anis Doubal.

Undeterred, Morocco regained composure and continued to dictate play. Their persistence paid off in the 86th minute when Bakhty fired home to restore the lead. Jones El Abdellaoui then put the result beyond doubt with a third goal deep into stoppage time (90+2′), sealing Morocco’s progression to the knockout rounds.

The win highlights Morocco’s strong performance in the group stage, as the team advances to the quarterfinals with confidence and growing momentum.
